Thanks for this. I find these research results seriously astonishing, specifically the stat of 32% of buyers buying a product after seeing the image, with 26% of all buyers going straight to the retailer to purchase the product. As you say, this means 1 in 4 of these buyers click on an image and buy the product. That is amazing... so amazing I am struggling to believe it. Love to know how you selected your sample...

There is more to it than just viewing an image. These buyers are not just random people visiting Pinterest, viewing random images - and then buying products. Pinterest is a different type of social network, where images are often pinned and viewed between trusted friends and such peer-group recommendations carry a lot of weight. I hope you have researched this aspect of it all, as well as the types & categories of products being promoted and bought this way.

I will await tomorrow's post - and your next installments in this series.

Hi Don,

Our standard Bizrate survey code is programmed to automatically revert to a DHTML layer (inline image) if a pop-up blocker is present. We can change the invitation to always display as a DHTML layer as the change occurs solely on our end, but we find that this typically reduce response rates so it change may negatively impact your ratings.

Thank you,

Is it possible to not force an old-style popup window - Most browsers just block it anyway and it puts an ugly bar across.
